About Us

Learning should be interesting and fun, and at Bite Size that is exactly what it is. The Bite Size team is extremely passionate about creating affordable on-line training to computer end users in an interesting and fun way - giving you the tools needed, just when you need them!

All too often other pressures get in the way of formal learning. This is why we created Bite Size.

We provide you and your staff with the opportunity to learn at a time, pace and place to suit your needs. Our interactive online lessons and courses are provided online, enabling Microsoft Office training that fits around your business.

Bite Size courses are quick for you to complete, fun for you to learn, and easy for you to retain. They are cost effective and tailored for your needs. Our highly qualified and expert course designers are able to create Bite Size learning chunks just for you; if there is a specific lesson or weekly tip you require – just ask!

The Bite Size team consists of a number of specialists across the IT, Training and Marketing and Communications sectors. They are all passionate about Bite Size and how they can revolutionise learning in the workplace.

What are you passionate about?
Making learning affordable for everyone. Helping people to understand how to use Microsoft applications. Taking the fright out of learning and making it easy to understand. We have computers at work and at home so the easier they are to use, the better quality of life we have, and with less stress.

What are your outside interests?
Walking the dog, meeting up with friends and cooking, are the main things that make me happy.

What do you love most about work?
Working with my two business partners. I really enjoy going into organisations and helping them realise where they are with their e-learning journey, and assisting with their development.

What can your colleagues and clients count on you for?
I’m reliable, enthusiastic and love having a laugh – after all, if you can’t be happy in what you do, you may as well give up.

What are you accountable for at Bite Size?
Working with the trainers and designing lessons and course outlines, as well as looking ahead at the future strategy to ensure Bite Size is always delivering a first class service.

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
MOS qualified,  I have been teaching students how to use Microsoft products for over 20 years. I worked for ICI HQ in London which gave me a great wealth of experience.

Sue Brooker

What are you passionate about?
Seeing people progress. Getting great feedback on our service. Building long term business relationships with our customers and helping them get the most out of Bite Size through internal marketing initiatives and outstanding customer service.

What are your outside interests?
Socialising, walking, zumbering, singing (or trying to) and spending time with my family. I love going to the theatre and music concerts.

What do you love most about work?
Being creative, getting to know our customers, understanding their training needs, and creating solutions to meet their needs. I love working in a positive and fun atmosphere with a great team of talented people.

What can your colleagues and clients count on you for?
Reliability, delivering high standards, getting the job done and being extremely passionate about what I do.  I'm also known as the talkative one! 

What are you accountable for at Bite Size?
The Sales & Marketing strategy for the business - to ensure we continue to deliver excellent value for money and building successful long term partnerships with our customers. Business development, Contract Management, Research and PR are also part of my remit.

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
Over 20 years experience within the Advertising and Communications Industry; creating advertising and marketing solutions, internal communication strategies, customer relationship building, and high level contract management at a global level, across both the private and public sectors.

Lucy McAlpine

What are you passionate about?
Developing great relationships with our clients, passing on our passion for learning in bite size chunks, and hearing about their EUREKA moments! Being part of a great team creating innovative and fun ways of learning.

What are your outside interests?
I am a “ZUMBA” addict twice a week, I love walking the dog in the fresh air, spending time with friends and family, cooking and eating all things bad for the figure!

What do you love most about work?
The variety of tasks - from working the Bite Size stand at exhibitions, to developing relationships and passing on our Bite Size passion to clients. Helping to create solutions for our audience by way of offering something fun and easy to grasp.

What can your colleagues and clients count on you for?
I’m extremely passionate about everything I do; wanting to deliver impeccable standards in customer development, financial quotations and innovative ideas to take the financial burden out of Microsoft training. I always have a joke up my sleeve, and am prepared to wear the mouse ears and tail at Bite Size exhibitions!

What are you accountable for at Bite Size?
Sales and Communications, covering business development and contract management. Responsible for all accounting functions within Bite Size, along with Marketing and Advertising.

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
Over 25 years experience in finance and accountancy and six years as an independent editor and publisher. I have gained a cross selection of skills to cope with an ever-changing variety of tasks within Bite Size.

Kim Davie

What are you passionate about?
That all learning should be fun - whether you are aged 5 or 105.

What are your outside interests?
Chocolate! Fortunately my passion for Ballroom and Latin dancing helps to exercise away the evidence…

What do you love most about work?
The variety and endless possibilities.

What can your colleagues and clients count on you for?
I’m reliable, patient and just love focusing on the detail.

What are you accountable for at Bite Size?
I’m part of the team designing and producing course outlines and lessons. I’m also on hand if ever there’s any spare chocolate in need of a good home!

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
I’m a qualified Microsoft Office Master; an HDI certified Help Desk Manager (Higher Mastery Level) and have been providing IT technical instruction and support for over 16 years.

Peter Murphy

What are you passionate about?
Helping people to understand software and apply its benefits in the real world. Removing any fear and showing that products such as Excel, Access, Word etc. are just tools that help make life easier!

What are your outside interests?
I love music, theatre, cinema and reading. A trip to the concert hall, discovering a new band in a local bar or a night out at the theatre is my sort of night! Closely followed by – and without wishing to reveal too much – a visit to see Tottenham Hotspur win!

What do you love most about work?
I get a tremendous reward from training and helping people who feel perhaps that something is beyond them, and then see that they can do it after all.

I’m reliable, professional and enthusiastic. I will always endeavour to do my best.

What are you accountable for at Bite Size?
Developing lessons and course curricula.

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
I have been teaching Microsoft products for over 15 years. Prior to this I have spent a career in IT as programmer, systems analyst and in management - and of-course many more years as a trainer. My niche technical areas are databases and programming. This experience helps me in the production of valuable Bite Size lesson 

Naomi Hayden

What are you passionate about?
Getting people excited about learning something new. Showing people how to make the most of Microsoft products and understand how to apply their new skills in the real world. Finding ways to save time and energy and sharing these finds with others.

What are your outside interests?
I love playing the piano and I also sing in a band. I enjoy a good game of crazy golf and I’ve been known to paint the odd picture when the mood takes me. Also baking. Hugely enjoy spending hours in my kitchen and my baking cupboard is the best place in my house!

What do you love most about work?
I absolutely love to see people growing and learning, especially when it’s my favourite subject – MS Excel! I live and breathe Excel like a complete swot and it makes me sparkle to see the penny drop when someone learns yet another awesome thing Excel can do for them.

What can your colleagues and clients count on you for?
I will always inject a giggle and a smile into proceedings – along with an unrelenting love for the subject and probably some cake too…

Developing lessons and course curricula and being part of the overall team.

What background and training do you have that is relevant to your work at Bite Size?
I have been teaching Microsoft products in different capacities for over 7 years. Prior to this I have spent a career in project management, with a side of VBA programming and database design. My love for VBA programming comes from my inspirational teacher, Peter, who’s knowledge on the subject inspired me. My love for MS Excel comes from years of watching it change and evolve and wanting to learn every little bit as it developed over the last 20 or so years.
