DID YOU KNOW … that Goal Seek is a “what-if” analysis tool in Excel that is useful for backward calculations, enabling you to set the result of a mathematical equation?  So if you know the result that you want to achieve from a formula, but are not sure what input value the formula needs to get that result, Goal Seek is for you!  Our example explains how Goal Seek is used to find the maximum amount you can afford to borrow, if you want to keep the payments to a certain amount each month.
